Larry “Paul” Phelps, 66, of Pampa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Amarillo. He was born on December 26, 1953 in Pampa to John and Billie Phelps.
Paul was a lifelong resident of Pampa and had graduated with the Class of ‘72’ from Pampa High School. He married Pamela Dallas on April 20, 1991 and they had recently celebrated their 29th anniversary together. As a very dedicated man, he had worked for Cabot for 32 years until his medical condition forced him into early retirement. He was an incredibly quiet and kind-hearted man with a beautiful smile. Paul had several interests in life, such as WWE Wrestling, John Wayne and old westerns, listening to Christian music and singing. He showed interest in guns and collected knives, but his dogs trumped any of that; however, his family and grandkids were Paul’s top priority and owned his heart! His gentleness and smile will be missed greatly.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a mother-in-law, Mary Jane Dallas and a brother-in-law, Alan Dallas.
He has left behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Pamela Phelps of Pampa; sons, Jason Phelps and fiancé Candice of Amarillo, Jonathon Phelps and wife Starla of Pampa; brother, Steve Phelps and wife Heidi of Howardwick; six grandchildren, Jacob Phelps, Jon Phelps, Jacob Honeycutt, Hannah Phelps, Caeleb Phelps, Leo Phelps; father-in-law, Earl Dallas of Pampa; brothers-in-law, Butch Dallas and wife Sheila of Pampa, Charles Dallas and wife Sherry of Houston; sister-in-law, Tami Weeks of Pampa and two nephews, Dr. Brian Phelps and wife Constance of Oklahoma City and Brent Phelps of Chicago.
