Glenda Laughlin, your Mom, your Turtle, your Grindle, and your Friend, was born on August 14, 1954 in Pampa Tx to Charles and Rosemary Hollaway. Glenda graduated from Pampa High School in 1972 where she was a member of the High School Band and FFA. Her first job was a lifeguard at the community pool, which was perfect for a person that would give her life to save another. Glenda went on to attend West Texas A&M University in Canyon Texas. She began her work with animals at the City of Pampa, Animal Control Services and went on to work for and own businesses caring for and training animals throughout her life. She moved to Lubbock where she worked for Amarillo Custom Box and Wal-Mart for many years of her adult life. She was an avid animal lover, more specifically to paint horses, dogs, and turtles. She loved her family and friends just as much. Glenda never knew the meaning of a friend because everyone she knew became family. Her greatest asset was her giving heart, but it was also a downfall at times. Glenda never knew how to say “no” when it came to anyone in need. She definitely had a feisty personality, as I am sure you all know very well. Glenda did not take confrontation lightly, especially when it came to anyone hurting her family. She was as tough as they came, but with a tender heart. So as you part from this day, hold on to the memories and bonds that you have made and created with Glenda throughout these years. Cherish those bonds and memories and know that Glenda is always with you. Remember she is no longer hurting here on earth, rather walking or riding beside you every step of your way. Glenda Joyce Laughlin graduated from this earth on December 4th, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and RoseMary Hollaway and her Grandson Laramie Barton. Glenda is survived by her daughters, Katrina Claunch (husband Jimmy Claunch) and Deeon Barton (husband Travis Barton), Grandchildren Madison Broadstreet, Christopher Broadstreet, Jordan Barton, Thayer Barton; Great Grandchildren Coleman Brumley and soon to arrive Rhydleigh Brumley. She has numerous adopted grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as many friends and extended family. The family would like to give a special thank you to Interim Hospice & Home Health.
