Donald Eugene Gallagher

Donald Eugene Gallagher, 70 years old, of Pampa, Texas, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Amarillo, following a short battle with cancer. Born on March 5, 1954, in Roswell, New Mexico, Don was the eldest of six children and the older twin brother to Ronald Gallagher by ten minutes. He was the cherished son of Herman R. and Bettye Gallagher.

Don graduated from Pampa High School in 1972 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1973, where he selflessly served during the Vietnam era. He took pride in his seven years of military service before being honorably discharged. After returning home, Don found joy in working in retail and serving the public, culminating in his retirement from Bartlett’s Lumber.

Don and his twin brother, Ron, shared a deep bond and spent many happy hours fishing together. Don also found enjoyment helping his father in the garden. He was a lover of the outdoors, but after the passing of both parents, he became more private. Don was known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help others, even with the little he had.

Awaiting Don in Heaven were his parents, Herman and Bettye Gallagher, ready to welcome him with open arms.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his twin brother, Ronald Gallagher and wife Carolyn of Pampa; siblings, Larry Gallagher and wife Gay of Shawnee, KS; Teresa Gallagher of Amarillo; Russell Gallagher and wife Twyla of Pampa; Melissa Robyn Bentley of Foley, AL; along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family members.

To honor Don’s wishes, the family will host a private inurnment at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Cremation care has been entrusted to Winegeart Funeral Home.
