SERVICES: 2:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Lefors, with Rev. Ronnie Lambert, pastor, officiating.

BURIAL: Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Young was born October 1, 1953 in Pampa to Farris E. and Bonnie L. Young. Mike married Anna Corley on February 27, 1970 in Pampa. They were blessed with five children. He attended Barber College, but loved to work outside. He spent over 20 years working in the oilfield. He then worked for the City of Lefors, National Oilwell and Titan Specialties. Mike was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation at the time of his death. He was an avid bass fisherman and a member of the High Plains Bass Anglers. He was active in the community, serving his third term in office after being elected Mayor of Lefors in 2006. He was assistant fire chief of the Lefors Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lefors.Mike loved his family. He enjoyed family events and visiting with his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

SURVIVORS: wife: Anna Young of the home; 2 daughters: Ronna Smith and husband Brian of Pampa, and Missy Ebben and husband Paul of Amarillo; 2 sons: Michael F. Young and fiancé Kayla Peevy of Pampa, and Chad Young of Lefors; 4 grandsons: Coby Smith and Tyler Smith, both of Pampa, Michael Young and Chandler Ballard, both of Amarillo; 5 granddaughters: Keeli Ebben, Allyssa Ebben, Lauren Ebben, and Breanna Campbell, all of Amarillo, and Kyla Young of Missouri; 2 sisters: Marilyn Burke and husband Steve of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Debby Barnes of Pampa; a brother: Terry Young and wife Beverly of Lefors; brother-in-law: Jim Corley and wife Becky of Pampa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by a son: David Young in 1994; his father: Farris Young in 1997; a brother: Rickey Young in 2002; and his mother: Bonnie Young in 2009.
